Journalism

As the Editor-in-Chief of the Echo, I have spent the past four years developing a greater understanding of how important writing and news can be when it comes to influential topics such as the recent national events regarding the violence and harm from ICE Agents.

With these events occurring, students organized a peaceful protest where they gathered signs and marched to City Hall. To cover this protest, I spoke with the organizers of the event and have been in contact with the Mayor of Webster Groves in order to ensure that all information about the protest is accurate for the extended story covering the event, which is to be released and included within the 2025 February Edition of the Echo.

To ensure the accuracy and truth within the story, I have been in contact with multiple sources involved in the event including the mayor, staff of WGHS, students involved, and those who organized the walk out.
